Newest technologies are aimed at keeping up the pace with increasingly demanding maritime markets. The Netherlands is home to a wide variety of maritime disciplines, from world class shipyards to innovative suppliers, and excels in complex shipbuilding, high-quality technologies and engineering. Not surprisingly the theme 'advanced technology' was represented within the complete programme of Europort.

Europort hosted a wide range of conferences, meetings and activities for each of the following nine sectors :

Europort also hosted the CEDA Dredging Days, the Ballast Water Conference, Blueports in Fishery and seminars from Ruysch, Hydographics Society Benelux and many others. Furthermore, visitors could attend seminars on anti-piracy protection, business opportunities in Brazil and there was a Broadband @ Sea meeting. On the exhibition floor was also a green route and career route.
